Looking back at 2011 there was a wealth of reasons to be anxious. From failing economies and revolutions in a wide array of different countries there was a lot of tumult. Employment numbers remained low and general anxiety seems

to keep getting higher and higher as the years go on. Still there were not a lot of major ecological crises. We did not have dangerous pandemics breaking out in American cities. We mostly kept ourselves and our children safe from the rabid spread of preventable disease. Small comfort you say? Hardly. The dread and terror of a major medical crisis in an urban environment is very real each and every year. When we dodge bullets like these we have reasons to celebrate.

How did we do it? Medical waste management is certainly at least one of the major reasons. We closely control all of the medical waste being created in our country and the result has been an effective management of disease in most places.

Regulated medical waste is one of the necessary evils of our modern society and we have collectively figured our ways to regulate and manage it safely. This should make us feel a bit more confident in our ability to tackle the other anxieties currently plaguing society.
